Belmont Cabinet

An arch instead of a rectangle changes the whole read of a cabinet. The Belmont is solid iron sheeting finished in a soft matte black, its top curved rather than square, with glass-front doors that let a light oak veneer back panel show through for contrast against the dark case. It is a storage cabinet built to be looked at, not just filled.

Styling Tips

Black iron this tall reads best with a little air around it, so give the Belmont its own wall rather than wedging it between other case pieces. A console or bar cart in a lighter wood keeps the room from tipping too dark; pull the rest of the space together from our storage furniture collection.

Inside, resist the urge to fill every shelf. A few considered objects against the oak backing read as curated, while a packed cabinet just reads as storage. Light the interior if you can: the glass front means the display is visible even when the doors are closed.
